Okutama mountainous area in Tokyo
Akigawa Keikoku Rivertio <Start> → Owada Bridge → Itsukaichi Police Station →
Kurojaya-mae → Sawado Bridge → Bonbori forest road → Kitazawa pass → Tokkiri-ba →
Danzauemon peak branch point → Ichibochi → Ichimichi yama (Mt. Ichimichi) branch point →
Daigo pass → Daigomaru 15km post → Shinokubo pass →
Shinokubo pass kasetsu tozanguchi (1st check point) → Daigo forest road → Bonbori forest road →
Trail on Iriyama tunnel → Tokkiri-ba winging road → Iriyama pass (2nd check point)→
Imakuma yama (Mt. Imakuma) peak → Upside Kongo waterfall → Electric power substation →
HInatahou branch point→ Akigawa Keikoku Rivertio
Check points and time limit
*First check point: Shinokubo pass kasetsu tozanguchi. Time limit, 13:00 (4 hours and 30
minutes after the start)
*Second check point: Iriyama pass. Time limit, 14:30 (6 hours after the start)
*Finish: Time limit, 15:30 (7 hours after the start)

Entry Qualification
•Entrant must be 16 years old or over on the race day. (Parent’s consent is necessary for entrants under 18
_years old.)
•Entrants are required to be physically fit and to run/walk the course within the time limit.
•Mountain rescue insurance is essential to participate in the race. Evidence of insurance (e.g. membership
_card) will be checked at the reception.
*There are some entry spaces for para-athletes. Please contact the Administration Office for further detail.
Record
Race time is recorded by the IC chips on your shoes. Result of the race will be checked
on the board in the venue. Finisher’s certificate will be issued at the finish line.
Award
•Medals for the winners of the overall men and women, and top 3 in age groups..
•Award Certificate for the top 6 in age groups
•Finisher’s Certificate for all finishers within the time limit.
*Men’s runners in top 1000 and women’s runners in top 100 are entitled to priority entry to the 27th
Japan Mountain Endurance Race (HASETSUNE CUP).
Entry Fee
•JPY 10,000 for adult / JPY 2,000 for high school students
*Once paid, fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
*Part of the fee will be contributed for environmental preservation activities for the race area.
Rules and Regulations
1. It is a chip-timed race in the mountainous area.
2. There are 2 check points (CPs) with time limits. If you cannot pass each CP before the time limit, you
are no longer able to continue the race. You need to follow the instructions of the official when getting
off the course or going down the mountains.
*First check point: Shinokubo pass kasetsu tozanguchi. Time limit, 13:00 (4 hours and 30 minutes after
the start)
*Second check point: Iriyama pass. Time limit, 14:30 (6 hours after the start)
3. Finish gate is closed at 15:30. (7 hours after the start)
4, Aid station is not available on the course. You may not accept aid or assistance in any form from anyone.
5. You need to carry at least 1.5L of water, food and rainwear made with waterproof materials which are
mandatory equipment.
In addition to the mandatory equipment, you should also carry outfits for cold weather and other
equipment you may need during the race. Lack of the equipment or ill equipment condition may cause
an accident. You need to figure out what to bring with you.
6. Mountain rescue insurance of any sort is essential to participate in the race. Evidence of insurance
(e.g. membership card) must be presented at the reception desk.
7. You may use trekking poles, but only after passing Kitazawa pass tozanguchi. You should keep your
poles attached to your backpack until you reach the point. A tip of the trekking pole must be covered
with a protector to conserve the nature and vegetation.
8. Tapes and course displays are placed on the course to avoid wrong directions.
9. Conditions for disqualification are:
to throw garbage away
to violate the rules and regulations
to neglect directions made by the official
to get aid from anyone
to shortcut the course
to put your race bib on incorrectly. Folding the bib is strictly prohibited.
to miss CPs within the time limits
to misrepresent the entry data and qualifications
to violate natural preservation
to conduct unfair acts
10. If you drop out of the race, you need to inform the official and follow his/her instruction.
11. First aid will be provided in case of accident during the race. Any other responsibilities will not be held
by the organizer.
